Science and Stories! Mini Hands-on STEM Workshop for Educators
Science and Stories! Mini Hands-on STEM Workshop for Educators
Stories are a powerful medium for engaging children in STEM thinking!
In this fun, interactive Zoom workshop, teachers and librarians will get to play and learn together. Participants will be introduced to a picture book and try out a story-based engineering activity that can inspire children to help the characters solve a problem. Using our observation skills, creativity, and imagination, we will introduce the engineering design process to design, build, and test our very own boats. This activity brings together literacy, early engineering, and causal learning.
A simple materials list for hands-on portions of the workshop will be emailed to you upon registration.
Zoom link and login instructions will be emailed 24 hours prior to event.
Certificates of Attendance are available upon request. We recommend checking in with your local licensing agency to be sure it will be approved for CEUs.
